AMALAK is a service organization open to all women in the Kalama area interested in community involvement.

The Kalama Women's Club was organized in 1912 and has been active since that time, not only in projects that positively affect our community, but in special projects sponsored by G.F.W.C. International (General Federation of Women's Clubs), to which we belong. The club became GFWC-WS Amalak (Kalama spelled backwards) in 1949.

 Meetings

1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, September through May, at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Building (corner of 2nd and Elm). Members are reminded of meetings, special events and any changes by a calling committee. We usually have a guest speaker once a month. Amalak dues are $25/year - much of which goes to GFWC headquarters.

Members can be involved in club projects as much or as little as their interests and time allow.Guests are always welcome and we are eager to hear your concerns and, hopefully, to have you join us in our efforts to support the livability of Kalama.

CURRENT EVENTS

This is just a reminder for those who were at the last meeting and an info for those who weren't.  Fri. Oct 26 ,Amalak will be going to IKEA.  This is a wonderful home interiors store, all items are from Sweden.  They also have quite a lot of foodstuffs.  We will meet at 10am behind Columbia Inn motel and carpool.  This store also has a very good resturant and so we will have lunch there
